Sweet Potato Mash

Tonight I made my husband dinner for his birthday. He loves my sweet potato mash! It took awhile to perfect it. Here is my newest recipe:

  • 3 yams, cut in quarters and peeled (I leave a little skin on because he likes it. To each their own!).
  • 2 tbsp of garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp of coconut sugar
  • 3 tbsp of butter
  • Salt to taste
  1. Bring water to a boil in a pot. I personally use a 12 quart pot. This is my preference, because it’s easier to handle, easier to drain the water, and you have more room to mash and stir.
  2. Boil the sweet potatoes until cooked through. I test mine with a fork to check tenderness. Usually about 30 mins.
  3. Add in your butter, garlic, coconut sugar, and salt. Stir well!
